Emily is a digital communications leader with nearly a decade of experience helping public institutions tell their stories well. Before joining kartoonEDU, she spent her career inside a large Virginia school division, eventually leading digital strategy for a community of more than 50,000, covering everything from web and social to email and video.

Along the way, she’s led a full website migration for dozens of schools, launched an AI-powered chatbot to keep communities better informed, and built and trained a network of content contributors dozens strong. Her work has earned more than 15 national and regional awards for strategic communications and digital media excellence.

At kartoonEDU, Emily leads accessibility and social media strategy, making sure every story the team tells actually reaches the people it’s meant for. She treats accessibility as a design principle, not a checklist, and it shows in the reach and clarity of the content she produces.

Outside of comms, Emily has spent years in the performing arts as a dance instructor and program director, so she knows a thing or two about getting an audience’s attention and holding onto it.
